Accessibility / ADA Services

Guests requiring special accommodations can contact the Guest Services Department at guestservices@xcelenergycenter.com or 651-726-8200 prior to the event to make any needed arrangements.

There are ADA accessible parking spaces in the RiverCentre Parking Ramp which is located across the street from Saint Paul RiverCentre at 150 W. Kellogg Boulevard. The parking ramp elevators on the west end of the ramp provide skyway access to Roy Wilkins Auditorium.

The balcony seating in Roy Wilkins Auditorium is not accessible by elevator.  Raised ADA floor seating is designated for all Roy Wilkins Auditorium events.

Alcohol Policy and Acceptable Forms of ID

We follow the Minnesota State Law for Acceptable IDs. Proof of age for purchasing or consuming alcoholic beverages may be established only by one of the following:

  • A valid driver’s license issued by Minnesota, another state or Canada, including the photograph and date of birth of the person
  • A valid identification card issued by Minnesota, another state or Canada, including the photograph and date of birth of the person
  • A valid military ID issued by the U.S. Dept. of Defense
  • A valid passport issued by the United States
  • Mexican Consulate IDs
  • In the case of a foreign national, a valid passport

PLEASE NOTE: We CANNOT accept clipped IDs with papers as a form of valid identification for buying alcohol.

Baby Changing Areas

Bag Policy

To provide a safer environment and significantly expedite guest entry, Roy Wilkins Auditorium encourages you to not bring a bag to an event or to limit the size of bag that you bring. We suggest clear totes (plastic, vinyl or PVC) which do not exceed 12" x 6" x 12", gallon size plastic storage bags or small bags or clutch purses no larger than 4.5" x 6.5". Oversized bags and backpacks are prohibited.

Banners & Signs

Banners and signs no larger than 2 ½ feet x 2 ½ feet and contain NO sticks, poles or offensive/vulgar language are allowed in the arena. Banners and signs may not be hung or fastened anywhere in Roy Wilkins Auditorium. Signs must be handheld and displayed at appropriate times without impeding the experience of other guests. This is subject to change at any time based on a specific request from the event or promoter.

Camera Policy

For most events, non-professional, non-flash photography is permitted (disposable, digital or 35mm cameras with no interchangeable or telephoto lens). Video and audio recording is prohibited. Please note that some events will have a different camera policy. Please see the specific event page or contact 651-265-4800 for further information.

Concessions

MHC Culinary Group concession stands offer a fresh approach to the typical concession experience.   Roy Wilkins Auditorium concession stands are open during most public events.

Alcohol sales (including beer, spirits and wine) during concerts and other events cease no later than one (1) hour from the scheduled end of the event.

Drop off/ Pick Up

The recommended drop-off and pick-up location is the Rice Park entrance which is located at the intersection of Washington Street and 4th Street in downtown Saint Paul (near Rice Park).

Drop-off and pick-up at the curb cut-out in front of Saint Paul RiverCentre, located at 175 W. Kellogg Boulevard, is also permitted.

Exit and Re-entry

Roy Wilkins Auditorium has a "No Re-Entry Policy" during ticketed events which means guests may not exit the building during an event and then re-enter the building at a later time. To gain access to the building, guests must present a valid, unused ticket.

Roy Wilkins Auditorium cannot guarantee the accpetance by an artist or tour of any fan mail or items sent, or the return of any fan mail of items sent.

 

 

First Aid

Onsite first aid services are generally provided by Regions Hospital for all public events. Contact any Roy Wilkins Auditorium or Saint Paul RiverCentre staff member for assistance.

Food and Beverages / Bottles and Cans

Guests are not permitted to bring any outside food or beverages into the auditorium. Containers including bottles, cans, thermos bottles and plastic coolers are not permitted for the safety and protection of our guests. MHC Culinary Group offers a wide variety of food and beverage options at each event.

Beer and alcohol sales during concerts and other events: Sales end one (1) hour from the scheduled end of the event.

General Admission for Ticketed Events

Ticket holders can get in line once the building opens on the day of the show, unless signs are posted indicating otherwise.

Guest Conduct

Hearing / Visual Impaired Seating

For concerts in Roy Wilkins Auditorium, tickets may be purchased in a hearing impaired seating area.  Additionally, a sign language interpreter may be requested in advance by contacting the venue at 651-726-8200.

For all other events (non concerts), guests may obtain a headset and receiver for the ADA approved Telex ALD system free of charge.  To request this device, guests should request one on site from the venue staff or by calling in advance of the event to 651-726-8200.  A driver’s license or state issued ID is required to ensure return of equipment.

Hearing/visual impaired seating for Roy Wilkins Auditorium events are available in person at the Xcel Energy Center / Roy Wilkins Auditorium Box Office as well as through Ticketmaster outlets, Ticketmaster phone line and ticketmaster.com. To request an ASL interpreter, contact the Xcel Energy Center / Roy Wilkins Auditorium Box Office a minimum of ten (10) business days prior to the date of the event you are attending. For events with multiple show dates and times, one performance will be designated as the interpreted performance, however, an ASL interpreter will not be provided unless specifically requested.

Hearing/visual impaired seating is reserved up to ten (10) business days prior to the date of the event or until sold out, whichever comes first. Reserved hearing/visual impaired seats are held within an acceptable distance of the stage/performance as required by ADA regulations.

Lost and Found

During events, lost and found items are turned in at the Guest Services desk, located in the lobby of Roy Wilkins Auditorium. 

Items not retrieved during an event are brought to the Guest Experience Team within our facility.

To report a lost item after an event, please fill out the lost and found form. In the "Item Description" section, please include as much information about the item as possible, such as color and physical description. If an item is turned in that matches your item, you will be contacted to verify details of the item.

Unclaimed items will be discarded/donated 7 days after the date the item is turned in.

Metal Detectors

Roy Wilkins Auditorium uses walk through metal detectors (WTMD) for all events.

Guests will be required to pass through walk through metal detectors upon entry. To expedite the screening process, fans are encouraged to leave non-essential items at home or in their vehicles.

Parking

Saint Paul features approximately 13,000 parking spots within three blocks of the Roy Wilkins Auditorium and Saint Paul RiverCentre.

The closest parking to Roy Wilkins Auditorium is the RiverCentre Parking Ramp which is located at 150 W. Kellogg Boulevard. Parking rates vary depending on the event.

 

 

Prohibited Items

The following items are prohibited for most events and may not be brought into Saint Paul RiverCentre or Roy Wilkins Auditorium:

  • Cans, bottles, coolers or similar containers
  • Outside food or beverage
  • Air horns, noise makers, balloons, beach balls
  • Oversized bags or backpacks
  • Pets (other than service animals)
  • Laser pointers
  • Masks (masks are defined as forms of disguise or concealment worn over or in front of the face to hide the identity of the person)
  • Any other items that an event promoter deems restricted.

All guests are subject to be searched upon entering the venue. Purses, diaper bags and other small bags are allowed, but may be inspected.

Ride Share Services

Ride Share services are encouraged to drop off and pick up at the main entrance: 175 West Kellogg Boulevard, Saint Paul, MN 55102. There is not a designated ride share stand unless coordinated directly by an event promoter.

Smoking / Vaping

Roy Wilkins Auditorium is a smoke-free facility. Smoking, including e-cigarettes, anywhere in the building is strictly prohibited..

Taxis

Taxis are encouraged to drop off and pick up at the main entrance: 175 West Kellogg Boulevard, Saint Paul, MN 55102.

Tickets for Children

For most events, children 2 years of age or older require a ticket to enter the venue. If an event varies from this policy, it will be noted on the specific event page.

Transportation / Buses

Free, designated bus parking is located across the river on Fillmore Street. Buses should travel eastbound on Kellogg Boulevard, turn right (south) onto Wabasha Street, turn left (east) onto Fillmore Street and park along the curb where bus parking signs are posted. Bus parking is available on a first come, first serve basis.

Wheelchair Escorts

Wheelchairs may be checked out from the box office or at the Guest Services desk, located in the lobby of Roy Wilkins Auditorium. Wheelchair availability is on a first come, first serve basis.

Wi-Fi (Wireless Internet)

Roy Wilkins Auditorium and Saint Paul RiverCentre have free, venue-wide Wi-Fi available for all events. Inside the venues, there are more than 100 Wi-Fi access points covering all levels. Guests can easily connect to the Wi-Fi network by selecting “RC_FreeWiFi” from among the connection options appearing on their device.

Will Call

On the night of the show, will call is located at the Roy Wilkins Auditorium Box Office, located directly outside the doors leading into Roy Wilkins Auditorium. Prior to the evening of the show, will call is located at the Xcel Energy Center Box Office at Gate 1 of Xcel Energy Center.
