Event Info
More than 200 cats from the United States and Canada will compete for the title of Best Cat at the Saintly City Cat Club Annual Championship and Household Pet Cat Show, January 24-25, 2026.
The show, held in conjunction with the St. Paul Winter Carnival, will be held at the Saint Paul RiverCentre complex, in the Roy Wilkins Exhibition Hall (lower level), in downtown Saint Paul.
As many as 26 different breeds of cats will be judged in four classes: Kittens, Championship, Premiership (neutered & spayed cats), and Household Pets.
Competitors will include popular breeds such as Persians, Birman and Maine Coon, as well as lesser known breeds such as Bengals, Cornish Rex and Sphynx.
A "King" and "Queen" cat will be caped and crowned from our Household Pet division on Sunday afternoon, by a member of the St. Paul Winter Carnival Royalty.
Each feline finalist will receive a beautiful rosette from Saintly City Cat Club. In addition, finalists will earn points from the Cat Fanciers Association (CFA), the largest cat registry in the world. Points are tallied for the title of Grand Champion, Grand Premier, and for regional and national awards every show season.
Saintly City Cat Club is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting the health and welfare of all felines and to the education of the public on felines. Established in 1974, it is a member club of the Cat Fanciers' Association (CFA).
Anyone interested in entering their cat in the show can contact Entry Clerk Susan Kline (801-645-4730) or Show Manager Linda Mae Baker (651-455-8043) for additional information.

Construction Alert
-
Starting Friday, January 23 at 10 p.m. through Sunday, January 25 at 5 p.m., MnDOT will temporarily close Interstate 94 through the Dayton’s Bluff neighborhood in Saint Paul. The posted I-94 detours will be 694 to 35E. The freeway closure is necessary to allow city contractors to deliver and set beams over I-94 for the new Kellogg-3rd Street Bridge.
The hard closure of I-94 will be at Hwy 61 for westbound traffic and Hwy 52 for eastbound traffic. Access to local streets, including Etna Street and Wilson Avenue will be prohibited and all westbound I-94 traffic will be routed southbound on Hwy 61. The exits to Burns Avenue will also be closed to reduce cut-through traffic on local streets.
To access downtown Saint Paul from the east metro, take Hwy 61 south to Warner/Shepard Road.
To access local Eastside Saint Paul streets from the east metro, exit on White Bear Avenue.
