A beloved cultural tradition will return to Minnesota’s capital this spring as the International Festival of Minnesota (IFest-MN), formerly known as Festival of Nations, takes place April 10–11 at Saint Paul RiverCentre.
After a seven-year hiatus, the reimagined festival will feature participation from 67 nations and ethnic communities celebrating Minnesota’s cultural diversity and global connections. The event will offer global cuisine, hands-on multicultural activities, artisan goods, and music and dance performances throughout the two-day festival.
“We’ve had an incredible response,” said Executive Director Steve Heckler. “More than 5,000 students from across Minnesota and four additional states are already registered to attend, making this both a powerful educational experience and a vibrant community celebration.”
Vendors representing five continents will present authentic foods, cultural demonstrations and immersive exhibits designed to give visitors opportunities to experience traditions, stories and flavors from around the world.
Community partners are helping to make the festival accessible and welcoming to all. Metro Transit will provide free bus and light rail rides on April 10 and 11 for festival attendees. Download the pass at ifestmn.org. Warners' Stellian is supplying appliances for the festival’s global cafés, and Grey Line Minnesota is supporting park-and-ride shuttle service.
The festival is sure to foster understanding and celebrate the cultural traditions that shape communities across Minnesota and beyond.
