Senior Legal Fair Returns to Saint Paul RiverCentre Sept. 19


The 2014 Senior Legal Fair, presented by Southern Minnesota Regional Legal Services (SMRLS), will be held from 8:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 19 at Saint Paul RiverCentre. SMRLS has partnered with the event's premier sponsor UCare to provide the Senior Legal Fair for a eighth straight year. Admission is free.

The 2014 Senior Legal Fair is a multicultural event serving the legal needs of low-income seniors across the metro area. SMRLS is a non-profit law firm that aids low-income people in Ramsey, Dakota, Washington, Scott and Carver counties. The Senior Legal Fair assists seniors of all ethnic backgrounds with their legal rights and problems.

Over 60 private, corporate, legal aid and government lawyers will meet individually with seniors and present eight different education sessions on legal issues. The Senior Legal Fair has several different events that educate and serve seniors in unique and meaningful ways. SMRLS has attorneys available for 15 minute one-on-one advice consultations. They also have a special program with UnitedHealth Group, Dorsey and Whitney LLP and 3M to provide simple wills free of charge to pre-registered seniors. The event will also provide community legal education seminars on special topics affecting seniors today.
