Minnesota Roller Derby Returns to Roy Wilkins Auditorium Oct. 5

Doors open at 6 p.m. The first 200 fans to arrive will receive a limited-edition t-shirt.
Head down to the track at half-time for a live performance by local alternative electric pop artist SYM1. After the bout, join Minnesota Roller Derby for the official after party at Camp Bar in St. Paul.
General admission tickets to the event are $15 in advance, $17 at the door. Tickets are available at local outlets, Ticketmaster.com and the Roy Wilkins Auditorium Box Office. Children ages nine and under receive free general admission. Visit mnrollerderby.com for more details.
Community involvement is a core belief that makes Minnesota Roller Derby who they are. They believe in community and work to better theirs through volunteering and donations. In that spirit, each bout they honor a bout charity and door charity.
All season long, their bout charity is the Ann Bancroft Foundation's Let Me Play Grant Program, which funds athletic and dance equipment or participation fees for girls ages 5 through high school graduation.
In addition to their bout charity, they collect items at the door to support a door charity. Proceeds from their Tattoo and Team Spirit Booth are also donated to this worthy cause. This month, their door charity benefits JustUs Health. JustUs Health fights to end HIV and reach health equity for LGBTQ and HIV-positive communities.
They'll be collecting items for JustUs Health at the doors. Bring donation items like convenient and nonperishable food items, toiletries, towels, feminine hygiene products, and new socks and underwear to receive a discount on your ticket purchase.
ABOUT MNRD: Minnesota Roller Derby (MNRD) is a six-team flat track roller derby league committed to empowering women, non-binary and gender-expansive folks. Originally founded as Minnesota RollerGirls on August 31, 2004 by the Donnelly sisters, Minnesota Roller Derby is a member of the Women's Flat Track Derby Association (WFTDA). Every Minnesota Roller Derby skater is held to the highest standards of sportsmanship, ethics and good will and must adhere to rules set by the league and by WFTDA. MNRD is governed by the skaters, for the skaters. Skaters are not paid and a portion of the proceeds raised by the league is contributed to local charities.
