Minnesota Roller Derby
Minnesota Roller Derby (MNRD) is gearing up for a Krampus-themed holiday bout on Saturday, Dec. 21. First, the Atomic Bombshells take on the Garda Belts, followed by the Dagger Dolls battling the Rockits.
Doors open at 6 p.m. The first 200 fans to arrive will receive a limited-edition t-shirt. Come early to watch a pre-show performance by the Sleigh Belle Dancers, a volunteer danceline that performs throughout the Twin Cities metro during the holiday season to spread holiday cheer!
Get old fashioned black eyes for $1 at the Tattoo and Team Spirit Booth, or support your favorite home team for a $2 donation (kids always free).
Head down to the track at halftime for a live performance by award-winning Tubby Esquire, the Midwest's only Polka-Rock band. After the bout, meet your favorite skaters at Amsterdam Bar and Hall in St. Paul for the official MNRD after-party.
All season long, the MNRD bout charities are the Ann Bancroft Foundation's Let Me Play Grant Program, which funds athletic and dance equipment or participation fees for girls ages 5 through high school graduation, and JustUs Health which fights to end HIV and reach health equity for LBGTQ and HIV-positive communities.
In addition to their bout charities, MNRD collect items at the door to support a door charity. Proceeds from their Tattoo and Team Spirit Booth are also donated to this worthy cause. This month the door charity benefits the National Eagle Center, an environmental education non-profit located in Wabasha, MN.

In addition, MNRD often collect donations of items to support the door charity for a $2 discount at the door. Tonight they'll be collecting heavy-duty spray bottles (never been used), facial tissue, freezer Ziploc gallon bags, original Tide detergent, Dawn dish soap, heavy-duty scrub sponges, Mr. Clean magic erasers, kitchen shears that, ideally, come apart, and plain coco mat rugs (no colors and no signage such as Welcome) for the National Eagle Center.
They'll also be collecting convenient food (like canned food with pop tops, granola, protein bars, peanut butter crackers, nuts, dried fruit, rice cakes, veggie straws, juice boxes, apple sauce, jerky, pudding, microwave ready food), toiletries (shampoo and conditioner, toothpaste and toothbrush, soap and deodorant, pocket sized Kleenex and wipes, warm compresses and saline solution, razor, comb, brush, Q-Tips, tampons and pads), cleaning supplies, and towels for JustUs Health.
To provide a safer environment and significantly expedite guest entry, Roy Wilkins Auditorium encourages you to not bring a bag to the event or to limit the size of the bag that you bring. Should you choose to bring a bag, we encourage using a clear tote (plastic, vinyl or PVC) that does not exceed 12" x 6" x 12" or a maximum one gallon size plastic storage bag. Small bags or clutch purses no larger than 5" x 8" are permitted. Oversized bags and backpacks are prohibited.
Attendees are encouraged to park in the RiverCentre Parking Ramp which is located on Kellogg Boulevard and offers skyway access to Roy Wilkins Auditorium.
