192 breeds are eligible to enter and earn championship points at the American Kennel Club sanctioned all-breed conformation and specialty shows at Saint Paul RiverCentre on January 5, 6 and 7, 2018. Conformation judging emphasizes the original purpose of the breed and sustains the qualities unique to their development. Each day is a new competition with Best in Show awarded on Saturday and Sunday.

New Breeds for 2018
Two new breeds are eligible to compete and earn their first championship titles as of January 1, 2018. The Nederlandse Kooikerhondje will join the Sporting Group, and the Grand Basset Griffon Vendeen, the Hound Group.

Midwest Top Junior Handler Competition
On Saturday, the future of the dog world will compete in a junior handling competition which recognizes young handlers from the entire Midwest area. The winner of the competition will be eligible to compete in the Royal Canin 2018 AKC National Championship Show, held in Orlando in December 2018.

Dog Show Tours
Dog Show tours are available to all spectators on Saturday and Sunday from 10:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Local exhibitors will share information and guide you through the entire show to allow you to learn more about the wonderful world of dog shows. Stop at the Information Desk for more details.

Meet the Breeds
Visit the Rotunda of Saint Paul RiverCentre on Saturday and Sunday from 10:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. to meet a variety of dog breeds and their owners. This is your opportunity to meet and pet dogs, and learn more about the different breeds. Breeds will be assigned times which are posted at the Information Desk and are also available on the event website at

Unleashed 2.0 DOG EXPO
On January 5, 6 and 7, 2018 in Roy Wilkins Auditorium, in conjunction with the Land O’Lakes Kennel Club All-Breed Dog Show, a combination of demonstrations, discussions and presentations will be scheduled. They will showcase and promote many of the exciting things you can do with your dog. A special invitation is extended to millennials, families and empty-nesters. The events will include interesting activities that you can do just for fun or in a competitive setting.

Partners in Performance
On January 5, 6 and 7, 2018 in the Rotunda at Saint Paul RiverCentre, in conjunction with the Land O’Lakes Kennel Club All-Breed Dog Show, non-profit organizations and individuals will promote the many great things that dogs do for their humans.

AKC FSS Open Show
Each day at noon, rare breeds and new breeds working toward full AKC recognition are invited to participate in conformation judging at Saint Paul RiverCentre.

Thank You for Your Service
The twenty St. Paul Police Canine (K-9) teams are invited to Saint Paul RiverCentre on Saturday, January 6, 2018, to honor them for their service. A special presentation will occur immediately before the group judging.
